Welcome to Walcot A.B.C, where it’s good to belong.
Walcot A.B.C. is the oldest boxing club in Swindon. We are an England Boxing affiliated club, with many years of history within Swindon and the Western Counties.
Walcot A.B.C has trained many champion boxers over the years, such as Jamie Cox, Marlon Reid, Danny Bharj, Ryan Martin, Said Eltuyev, Connor Wells, Jorgen Cetaj, Patrick McDonagh, Tommy McDonagh and many more. All have made history for Swindon and the Western Counties throughout the years due to their determination, hard work and the coaching they had received from Walcot A.B.C.
We are not just a regular gym; We are a club and we strive to teach our members respect, discipline, and the value of hard work.
We welcome individuals of all levels, whether you’re a complete novice, a seasoned boxer, or somebody that wants to train recreationally. There is a place for you at Walcot.
In Memoriam
John McGrath
Our previous Chairman sadly passed away on the 16th of August, 2022. John had volunteered his free time to help the club as Chairman, working hard to consistently keep our club running, organizing our home shows, and making sure we are up to date on everything that was needed to do. His passing is a tragic loss, and we wish his wife and family the best.
We would also like to thank Heather McGrath, Johns’ wife, for her time as club treasurer. We wish her the best.
Jake Smith
Jake Smith, known as Smithy to some, was an active club member between 2018 and 2020. He sadly lost his life in the year 2023, at age 17. During his time with Walcot, Jake made vast improvements to his boxing, discipline, and attitude. He was very respectful, friendly and had a positive attitude within the gym. His loss is a tragedy, and we wish the best to his family.
